  • No difference in the points table, but there certainly will be one in one camp at least. The Renegades will take confidence from this, knowing that they are the team against whom the Hurricanes tasted their first defeat of the season. Moving on, on Tuesday, Sydney Thunder will host Brisbane Heat and the contest will begin at 1915 local (0815 GMT). Do join in for that. Cheers!
  • There were many good performance with the bat, but SAM HARPER IS DECLARED AS THE MAN OF THE MATCH. His early attacking intent pegged Hobart Hurricanes on the back foot and set it up for the others to take the win.
  • Just wasn't Hobart's day. Must have feeling a little off as they just didn't look themselves. Or maybe it was Harper's assault which put them off. They got the early wicket, some splendid work in the field gave them a glimmer of hope of making something happen, but they fell short in front of Nabi and Christian. Earlier in the day, Bailey and McDermott powered the visitors to a score of 145, but that eventually didn't prove to be enough.
  • A comfortable and a much-needed victory for the Renegades. Did the return of their skipper Aaron Finch give them that psychological edge? Could just be that, because the hosts have put in a more confident performance here. Chasing 146, Harvey departed early but then it was the Sam Harper show on display. The young man just took the attack to the Hurricanes early and that really snatched the momentum in his side's favour, as his stand of 64 with Finch laid the foundations. A few wickets were lost in quick succession, and there was some drama, but Nabi and Christian proved their attacking prowess and got the job done with ease.

And Mohammad Nabi finishes it off in style. MELBOURNE RENEGADES WIN BY 6 WICKETS AND 4 BALLS TO SPARE! So nonchalant from the Afghan. He just stands tall to this length ball around off and smacks it over the cover boundary for a maximum.

SIX! My word... I'm a little speechless. The power this man generates. Half-volley outside off, Christian just gets under it and launches it high and handsome across the cover boundary for maximum.
  • 18.3RMeredith to DChristian

SIX! What a shot. So much power behind it. Full toss well outside off, Christian throws his bat at it and makes superb connection. So much that the ball sails into the deep point stands.

OUT! That's a very good, calm catch from George Bailey. Cooper comes down the track and lofts it high towards wide long off. It seemed it might clear the rope, but it doesn't have enough distance on it. Bailey settles himself under the ball, remains watchful and gobbles it up. Also, Dan Christian is the next batsman in.
