Fans are upset as this was a big test for both the team. They should have tested their strength before they might have met in semis or some big game. They haven't lost a single game yet and this was the clash of toppers. But rain God is more kind here Trent Bridge. No human can do anything in front of nature. Let's wait for the next big clash which is battle of all battles between India and Pakistan. Till you Good bye and Take care!

    CROSSBATPro

So it's third time in this tournament that a match has been abandoned again. ICC must think about this that teams prepare for 4 long years for this big moment. This is not a joke. This abandoned matches can lead to some serious damage to teams. Srilanka's two matched had been white washed and they might even be out from semis race it they loses one game. So who will gonna be responsible for this. They must have to think about the venue, dates and timings of the tournament as well as this is not a bilateral series. So NZ and India both get 1 points they are on first and second spot yet.

Update 1400 local (1300 GMT) - Rain just won't leave us in this World Cup, will it? The rain had stopped for a bit but it has started pouring again actually it has got heavy and it is probably the heaviest since the morning. There is no movement on the pitch. We don't like to be the bad news bearer but the possibility of the game happening looks very bleak at the moment. Stay with us though as we will keep you posted. Preview - Match 18 of the Cricket World Cup sees the only two unbeaten sides in the tournament go head-to-head against each other. New Zealand and India both have had flawless starts to their respective campaigns and are making all the right sounds at the beginning of the tournament itself. New Zealand have had a relatively easy fixture list to begin with, 3 wins out of 3 games but those were against teams they were expected to win against - Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. That though does not take anything away from the fact that they have played an amazing brand of cricket and deserve to be right on top of the table. The Kiwis' first real test though of this World Cup comes in this match against the mighty Indians. The Men in Blue have looked really good in their first two matches with victories over South Africa and Australia. The first contest was perfectly plotted by the bowlers against the Proteas and it was a comfortable chase by the batsmen whereas against the Kangaroos, the batsmen set it up with a huge total and the bowlers did their job by defending the total well. The one bogey side for India in cricket though has always been New Zealand. The Kiwis have never let the Indians have a grip on them and lead 4-3 in H2H in World Cups. That said, the last time the two sides met in an ODI World Cup was in 2003. In England, The Black Caps have never lost to India in World Cup games winning 3 out of 3. Cutting back to the present, New Zealand will definitely have to bring their 'A' game to the fore against the subcontinent side but one factor that might work out in their favor could be the weather forecast for Nottingham on Thursday. Some showers are predicted and it should be an overcast day otherwise. So expect the pacers to have a ball, especially the one going by name of Trent Boult against whom the Asian side has struggled in the past as well in seaming and swinging conditions. The Indian side also has its work cut out otherwise too, as they have lost a vital member of their team to injury, Shikhar Dhawan. The southpaw has been ruled out of at least their next two games and that means a rejig will have to be done to the side that has had smooth sailing so far. KL Rahul is most likely to move to the top and join Rohit Sharma while one of Vijay Shankar/Dinesh Karthik is expected to slot in at number 4. Will the change affect the Blues? Only time will tell. For now, this is expected to pan out and be a really exciting and evenly matched contest. The scales could just very slightly tip in favor of the team from the Southern Hemisphere, due to conditions and the forced change to their rivals. Weather permitting, we should have only one unbeaten team at the end of Thursday!
