Indian captain Virat Kohli turned 31 on Tuesday (November 05, 2019). Wishes poured in for the batting maestro, who enjoys a huge fan base all over the world, thanks to his impeccable skills and remarkable consistency. One of the best batsmen of the generation, Kohli has been a vital cog in the Indian team across formats, over the years. After taking over the captaincy mantle from MS Dhoni, Kohli has led India to greater hieghts across formats.

Kohli made his international debut for India in an ODI against Sri Lanka in August 2008. His maiden international century for the Men in Blue came in an ODI encounter against the same opposition a year later in Kolkata where he played a special knock of 107 runs to guide India to victory. The elegant right-hander has not looked back ever since and has already established his credentials as one of the modern-day greats.

Kohli has undergone significant transformation since his early days in international cricket and has reaped rich rewards by maintaining supreme fitness. He has conquered all three formats of the game and his records speak for themselves. Kohli is the all-time second-highest run-getter for India in ODIs behind only Sachin Tendulkar, while in T20Is he is second on the list of most run-getters behind Indian teammate Rohit Sharma. In Tests, Kohli is the seventh-highest run-getter for India.

The cricket fraternity came together to wish the batting maestro on his 31st birthday with former Indian opener Virender Sehwag coming up with another gem of a tweet displaying his witty side. "May the ball always appear as big as this and may your batting always be like a F5 button, refresh everyone who is blessed to see it. Badalon ki tarah chaaye raho, hamesha khush raho," Sehwag wrote on Twitter wishing the Indian skipper.
