Indian batsman and vice-captain of the limited-overs sides Rohit Sharma came up with a funny post to wish his Mumbai teammate Shardul Thakur on his birthday. The Indian pacer turned 28 on Wednesday as wishes poured in from the cricket fraternity. Shardul, who made his international debut for India in August 2017, currently finds himself out of favour after failing to impress in the handful of opportunities that came his way.

However, Shardul continues to be a key member of the Mumbai squad in the domestic circuit and is currently playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In five ODIs and seven T20Is that he has played for India, Shardul donned the number 10 jersey, which was previously worn by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Shardul became the first player after Sachin to wear the number ten jersey. He was also trolled by fans for not performing well and maintaining the legacy of the iconic shirt.

Referring to his jersey number, Rohit posted a cheeky wish for the pacer on Twitter. "Many happy returns of the day buddy. Only the second player to wear the jersey. It takes guts to don that number but clearly you’re the best example of Impossible Is Nothing," wrote Rohit.

Tendulkar donned the number ten jersey for the most part of his career and retired as one of the greatest of the game with most runs in both Tests and ODIs. He also holds the record for most international centuries - 100. After outrage over Shardul wearing the number ten jersey, BCCI in November 2017 unofficially retired the number as a tribute to the Master Blaster.

After being dropped from the Indian side, Shardul has been looking to regain his spot back in the side with performances in the domestic circuit. In the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Shardul has picked up nine wickets in six games. He has so far played 5 ODIs, 7 T20Is and a solitary Test for India.
