'Tabidar' Misbah-ul-Haq nothing but yes man in Pakistan cricket, claims former cricketer Mohsin Khan
From Pakistan's embarrassing 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Sri Lanka to announcing a questionable squad for Australia tour, Misbah-ul-Haq is the plug of all facades on and off the field as far as Pakistan cricket is concerned. There's no denying that Misbah has more criticisers than sympathisers in Pakistan ever since he was handed the dual role of head coach and chief selector by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the post World Cup era. Former Pakistan cricketer Mohsin Khan is the latest to act as the antagonist by launching a scathing attack on the Misbah, who recently faced severe backlash from the fans for sacking former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed from the Pakistan squad for the Australia tour.
Misbah-ul-Haq nothing but a yes man?
Mohsin has labelled Misbah as the yes man in Pakistani cricket. The former Pakistan cricketer made this sensational remark during a TV show on a popular news channel in Pakistan. Considered as the most successful captain the country has ever produced in the oldest format of the game, Misbah is the first former cricketer in Pakistan's rich cricket history to be crowned as head coach and chief selector both at the same time. Mohsin called Misbah 'a yes man' because the serving chief of the Green Army will not fancy risking any confrontation with the apex cricket board in Pakistan.
Why 'Tabidar' Misbah has been given the post of coach cum chief selector?
"Why has Misbah been given the posts of head coach and chief selector? Only because he is a 'Tabidar' (one who follows orders). He is a yes man. The board wants people like him in their employment," Mohsin claimed on GTV News channel, reports news agency PTI. The former Pakistan chief coach and selector (Mohsin) then explained why he will never be hired by the board and also added the reason for Misbah becoming the chosen one.
"The board will never hire people like me or others as head coach or chief selector. Because they know I will not take any dictation and I will not compromise on discipline or selection on merit, he said. "Misbah has been picked because the board knows he will not confront or argue with them on any issue," he added.
