[VIDEO] Aiden Markram turns 'Sherlock Holmes' in the 'curious case of lost ball' during Vizag Test
A rather hilarious incident unfolded during the Day 2 of the first Test between India and South Africa at Visakhapatnam as some clueless Proteas fielders found a hard time searching for the ball that had hit the boundary rope. Thanks to Aiden Markram, who played the role of Sherlock Holmes, quickly resolved the case by recovering the 'lost ball' after spotting it on the giant screen.
As a delivery by the Proteas spinner Keshav Maharaj trickle down the leg side for four byes, not many knew where it had actually landed after hitting the ropes. Those in the area began looking for the ball between the advertisement hoardings and the covers which were kept between them and the boundary rope. It was later found out that the ball was stuck between the two advertisement paddings of the boundary rope.
Seeing the same on the giant screen, Markram rushed to the spot and grabbed the ball, although he couldn't prevent himself from laughing at the entire situation too. Be it Markram, the commentators or those watching the match on their TV sets, there was laughter all around at the situation. Commentator and former Indian cricketer Murali Kartik even said: "I have never seen anything like this in international cricket!"
