Seeing the country's PM come out holding drinks for his players in what was a warm-up match for the forthcoming 3-match T20I series left the cricketing world surprised. Even cricket commentator and expert Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to express his views on the same.

"How cool that the Prime Minister @ScottMorrisonMP comes out with the drinks at the Prime Minister's XI game in Canberra," he tweeted.

Here's the video of the moment when Morrison ran on the field with drinks in his hand:

Morrison was earlier also sitting in the commentary box with experts Brendon Julian and ScoMo, giving his take on the on-field development. He later also took a group selfie with the players. Fair to say that he enjoyed every moment of his presence at the stadium!

Prime Minister's XI vs Sri Lanka practice T20:

It turned out to be a low-scoring but thrilling contest between the two sides as the Lankans only scored 131 runs while batting first. Niroshan Dickwella's men endured an opening failure as both Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka were both dismissed for 7 runs each.

Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Oshada Fernando then brought some stability to the innings with scores of 24 and 38 respectively. Wanindu Hasaranga also scored 26 runs to help the team reach a respectable total.

For Prime Minister's XI, Harry Nielsen was the pick of the batsmen as he scored 79 off 50 to anchor the chase. The second-highest scorer for the hosts was Daniel Christian with 13 runs from 15 balls. It turned out to be an enthralling contest as PM XI lost 9 wickets en route to a nervy victory which saw them reach the target on the penultimate delivery of the match.

Despite the narrow defeat on Thursday, the Lankans would be confident of doing well against Australia having recently completed a clean sweep over World No. 1 T20 side Pakistan in their own home. For Australia
