[VIDEO] Jaydev Unadkat forgets to get back to crease; suffers comical run-out in Deodhar Trophy match
The Deodhar Trophy 2019-20 kicked-off on Thursday with India B defeating India A by a huge margin of 108 runs at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. While nothing went right for India A in the opening match of Deodhar Trophy, Jaydev Unadkat suffered a hilarious run-out after forgetting to get his bat back to the crease in time. It was a brain-fade moment for Unadkat, who defended a loopy off-spinner by Shahbaz Nadeem but remained outside the crease to check the pitch.
Pouncing on the opportunity, Kedar Jadhav rifled a flat throw straight to the gloves of wicket-keeper and captain Parthiv Patel, who dislodged the bails to leave Unadkat stunned. The India B players were seen having a laugh following Unadkat’s dismissal in what could be termed as one of the most hilarious ones in recent times. Unadkat was dismissed for just 1 run as India A suffered a crushing defeat against India B.
Talking about the match, India B batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad (113) and Baba Aparajith (101) stole the limelight with stunning tons while Vijay Shankar (26 off 16) and Krishnappa Gowtham (19 off 8) played blistering cameos at the end to take India B to a mammoth 302-6 in 50 overs. Unadkat, with the ball, picked up two wickets as he impressed in what he does the best.
India A failed to get things going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. While Hanuma Vihari (59) showed some fight with a gritty 59 off 82, no other batsmen could support the 26-year-old. The India A batting order fell like a pack of cards with Roosh Kalaria scalping three wickets for India B. Mohammed Siraj was equally impressive with his pace and bounce and ended up with two wickets under his belt while Krishnappa Gowtham managed to pick a wicket.
India A will next face Shubman Gill-led India C at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on November 1.
