[VIDEO] Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri felicitate BCCI chief curator Daljit Singh ahead of 2nd T20I in Mohali
Indian captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri felicitated Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief curator Daljit Singh on Wednesday at the PCA Stadium in Mohali ahead of the Men in Blue's second T20I encounter against South Africa. Singh, who has been working with the BCCI for the past 22 years, took the field in Mohali for one last time on Wednesday as he retired from the BCCI's pitch committee.
Singh has worked tirelessly, over the years, to ensure best quality pitches for the Indian team across the country. He was included in the BCCI’s pitch committee in 2012 and was honoured for his remarkable services to Indian cricket by Kohli and Shastri, who presented a memento to the chief curator in Mohali. BCCI took to Twitter to post a video of the short felicitation ceremony which was conducted before the start of the 2nd T20I.

India will be looking to get off to a winning start in the three-match series against South Africa after the first game in Dharamshala was washed out due to rain. Players and fans were left disappointed as rain played spoilsport in Himachal leaving them devoid of action. India, who are heading into the series on the back of a 3-0 demolition of West Indies in T20Is, will start favourites against Quinton de Kock's men.
India produced a clinical show in West Indies squaring off their preparations for the World T20 next year which is scheduled to be held in Australia. The Men in Blue will be looking to further fine-tune their preparations against a young Proteas side hungry for success under a new full-time captain.
Indian skipper Kohli won the toss in Mohali and opted to bowl first keeping the due factor in mind. India opted to rest a host of big names from the playing XI including KL Rahul and Manish Pandey with Shreyas Iyer taking the no.4 spot. Pacer Khaleel Ahmed was also dropped from the eleven with Hardik Pandya making his comeback.
