Over the years, especially, in India, the Decision Review System is being called a Dhoni Review System. His accurate decision to take the call on various occasions has always given him applauds from greats of the game. Meanwhile, on the other part of the world, the wicketkeeper-cum-captain Tim Paine is getting it wrong on a regular basis and wants to improve in that area. In between, he got a piece of advice from Aakash Chopra, who asked to consult MS Dhoni.

Australia captain Tim Paine admitted he was having a tough time after twice failing to review umpiring decisions in the fifth Ashes Test even though the challenges would have brought wickets. The DRS calls would have fetched a great advantage for the team, however, he missed the opportunities.

After wasting an all-important review during the Leeds Test that came back to haunt Australia later, Tim Paine once again proved that there is no end to his DRS woes. On Day 3 of the fifth Test at The Oval, the Australian skipper decided to not review on two occasions against Joe Denly and Jos Buttler.

The ball-tracking replays later showed had Paine sent the LBW shouts from Mitch Marsh and Nathan Lyon upstairs, the decisions would have turned in Australia’s favour. Joe Denly, who was given a lifeline by Paine on 54, went on to score 94 while Buttler added quick 47 to push England lead towards 400.

See, If MS Dhoni is ready to teach – Aakash Chopra to Tim Paine

Speaking at a press conference after the day’s play, Tim Paine accepted that he needs to take some lessons on better use of DRS. Taking a dig at Paine, former Indian cricketer-turned commentator Aakash Chopra asked the Australian skipper to give a call to former Indian captain MS Dhoni.

Australia have retained the Ashes and their captain Tim Paine has won plaudits for his captaincy and for stepping up and leading his side out of the mire which they had found themselves in the post the ball-tampering scandal. However, the skipper has not been too good when it comes to the decision review system.
