3 Cricketers who played in IPL before playing for India
Rajasthan Royals picked Jadeja, who was part of India’s Under-19 World Cup triumph in 2008, in the inaugural IPL season. With an average of about 20 and a strike rate of 131, he played the pinch hitter’s role in Rajasthan’s title-winning campaign.
Under captain MS Dhoni, he blossomed in all three departments and cemented his place in the national team. His pairing with Ravi Ashwin in Test cricket has made India an indomitable force in home conditions. His accuracy with the ball and lightning heroics in the field was always his strong suits, but in the last couple of years he has improved his batting as well; making the all-rounder an indispensable player.
The attitude, the swagger, the colourful demeanour on and off the field; Hardik Pandya’s deportments are privy to all. He strikes the ball with great panache too. Pandya was the answer to India’s dearth of seam-bowling all-rounders.
He is confident, he is audacious and isn’t afraid to take on the bowlers at any time in the game. The 26-year-old will be the kingpin for the men in blue in the T20 World Cup in Australia.
This Karnataka player is amongst the most talented batsman in Indian cricket at the moment. But KL Rahul hasn’t justified the talent he possesses.
The Karnataka lad made his IPL debut in 2013 for Bangalore. In a star-studded RCB line-up, Rahul could only get a handful of chances. But it was in the IPL 2016 where he thrived amassing 397 runs at an average of 44 and striking at 146. Rahul has a brilliant record in the T20 format for India and in the IPL.
