Meanwhile, the initial plan was to host two training sessions with the pink balls before the Test series gets underway. But the official supplier of the pink ball, Sanspariel Greenlands (SG), could only deliver the first batch of 60 pink balls on Saturday. As a result, the Indian cricketers will manage to train only on Sunday.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, will receive their first batch of pink balls on Monday when they reach Indore for the first Test. Notably, this will also be Bangladesh’s first day-night Test.Cheteshwar Pujara. Credit: Getty Images

The head of cricket in NCA, Rahul Dravid took the decision to train under lights with the pink ball after consultation with the team management to have the players ready for the game. Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Mayank Agarwal, Mohammad Shami and Ravindra Jadeja opted for the training session.
Some India players such as Pujara, Hanuma Vihari, Agarwal and Rahane have played with the pink ball in a Duleep Trophy game three seasons ago. However, the Indian board then had opted to use the Kookaburra ball. Now, the BCCI has decided to go with SG. This would be the first time pink SG balls would be used in a Test.
The first Test of the two-match series between India and Bangladesh will commence from November 14 in Indore before moving to Kolkata for the historic day-night match.
