Akeem Jordan took Patriots to their second win in CPL 2019
A cruise for St Kitts as they not only notch up a crucial win but also nitroboost their net run rate with this effort. 139 was always a below-par target and Lewis' blitzkrieg further made a mockery of it, leaving the Zouks bowlers in tatters with his powerhitting.
By the time he fell, the game was virtually sealed, and the finishing touches were applies by skipper Brathwaite. Apart from Fawad, all the visiting bowlers got the stick, as they failed to adapt to the nature of this track. The way they bowled, even a par total might not have been defended.
The Patriots have their bowlers to thank, Jordan and Mir in particular, for setting up this win with a disciplined effort. The game could have been completed earlier, if not for two brief rain delays.
Jordan, Man of the Match: It is special. I didn't even know that (about the second best CPL debut figures). There were a lot of nerves but my skipper always had my back. Told me to just focus on what I always do. This is a very important victory for us. The camaraderie and unity in the camp has gone up a few notches.
Brathwaite, winning captain: Most complete bowling effort we have had so far. We had discussed about getting wickets upfront and glad that we got that. Jordan on debut was really good. As a team, we were really good. He (Jordan) can swing the ball both ways, has a good knuckle ball and also can bowl yorkers well. A skillful bowler, and it's good for him to get his chance and not just get it but also take it.
