An Ad Featuring Rahul 'Jammy' Dravid In Different Avatars To Eat Jam Shows His Great Acting Skills
If elegance and humility had a face, it would have been Rahul Dravid's. The former Indian batsman and former coach of the India A and U-19 team, Dravid continues to impress the entire nation even after retiring from the game.
What's more surprising is how the Bengaluru-born remains his real self regardless of how the world changes around him and maybe that's why he finds immense success in whatever he chooses to do, his latest achievement being the position of the head of the National Cricket Academy.
However, a video resurfaced on YouTube which shows 'The Wall' all dressed up in various looks, trying to get as much jam from his mother as he possibly can. Now, keep in mind that the story-telling wasn't a part of the agenda when it came to television commercials back then, but that did not hold back Dravid from putting on a show.
While the video claims to be the reason why the cricketing legend got his nickname "Jammy", the fact Dravid's father used to work in a Kissan Jam factory and that his mother used to give him a jar of jam every time he used to go out with his teammate to practise, is the source of him being called by that name.
Interestingly enough, there also exists a local school tournament in Dravid's hometown known as the 'Jammy Cup' and the best player of the game wins the title of 'Jammy of the Day'.
