BCCI clears eligibility objection, paves the way for city cricketers
Senior Women T20: UTCA send standby player for backup Deepankar Sharda Chandigarh, October 13 BCCI has cleared objections raised on the eligibility of a few UT Cricket Association (UTCA) players to allow them to play in the senior women's T20 tournament. The squad, which is in Raipur (Chhattisgarh) for the tournament, got a major setback when the registration of a few players was found to be invalid. A standby player was sent to Raipur who reached there on Sunday evening. However, UTCA updated all the required documents of the players after which they were allowed to play in the squad. There was some problem regarding the registration of players but it was solved on time. BCCI has allowed us to field the team , As Reported By Tribune.
According to the Newspaper,We have been seeking cooperation from players but there are times when we are helpless, said UTCA secretary Desh Deepak Khanna. We can send a team of 16 players. The standby will be allowed to train with the team, but on the match the day, only 15 players will be allowed in the squad. The team management will decide who will sit out.
