BCCI Increases Daily Allowance For Players, Coaching Staff And National Selectors
According to the latest report of Mumbai Mirrors, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has decided to increase most of the daily allowances for the Indian cricketers, coaching staff and the national selectors.
Indian players and coaching staff will reportedly receive $250/day as the foreign travel allowance. Previously, the BCCI allotted half of that amount ($125/day) for everyone. This allowance is excluding the expenses of BCCI. The BCCI takes care of the expenses of business class travel, accommodation and laundry.
On the other hand, the CoA has cleared the amount of daily allowance during the home series. Earlier, the Indian players and coaching staff got $100/day as the allowance during the home series. But due to the recent fluctuating value of the USD/INR, the players and coaching staff will now get INR 7,500/day.
Apart from the daily allowances, the players also receive the match fees. The playing XI members receive INR 15 lakh for every Test, INR 6 lakh for every ODI and INR 3 lakh for every T20I. Outside the playing XI but the other squad members also receive the lesser match fees.
Moreover, the BCCI also provides yearly contracts for regular and consistent international cricketers. Currently, the central contract has four grades – INR 7 crore for Grade A+, INR 5 crore for Grade A, INR 3 crore for Grade B and INR 1 crore for Grade C.
National selectors are also enjoying the increasing daily allowance
Like the players and coaching staff, the national selectors will also enjoy the increasing value of daily allowance. -led national selection committee members previously received INR 3,500/day as the home allowance. Now, they will reportedly receive INR 7,500/day. Meanwhile, they receive $250 as the daily allowance during the overseas tour.
The report has further added that the Indian women’s national cricket team will also enjoy the benefit in the same proportion.
Both the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams are performing well in international cricket. At present, Indian men’s team is the no.1-ranked Test team, no.2-ranked ODI team and no.3-ranked T20I team. In the meantime, Indian women’s team is the no.2-ranked ODI and no.5-ranked T20I team.
