BCCI: IPL 2020 auction to be held in December
The auction schedule for the next season of the Indian Premier League is due in December this year. According to a reports, the auction will be held in December and the tournament will be played in April in 2020.
This report further states that in this small auction process, an increase of Rs 3 crore has been made for salary cap. This means that teams will be able to spend up to Rs 86 crore for their players.
According to the report, the team of Kings XI Punjab has selected four names for the coach. Former England coach Andy Flowers, former Australia coaches Darren Lehmann, Mike Hussey, George Bailey are on this short-listed list.
Mike Hessen took over as team director of Royal Challengers Bangalore, ending his two-year contract, after which the position of coach of Kings XI Punjab was vacated.
In addition to Hessen's appointment, RCB also hired former Australian batsman Simon Katich as head coach. Former Indian player Sreedharan Sriram has been given the role of batting and spin bowling coach, while Shankar Basu has been given the responsibility of strength and conditioning coach.
