The young Bangladesh cricketer Afif Hossain once again displayed his skills at the highest level to compliment his cricketing skills. The right-handed all-rounder had a good day in the middle with the ball at Delhi and would like to repeat the similar stuff for the team in upcoming matches as well.

Though he is a batting dominant all-rounder, Mahmadullah Riyad trusted the ability of his off-spin to give it a go against a strong Indian batting lineup. Without any pressure, Afif Hossain delivered it brilliantly by giving away just 11 runs in his 3 overs coupled with a wicket to his name as well.

I will strive to do my best – Afif Hossain

Speaking of the same, Afif Hossain is happy that skipper Mahmudullah Riyad has allowed him to play his natural game which has helped him grow in confidence. The way he sent Shivam Dube not only kept Bangladesh on top but also brought a lot of energy to the fielding department.

“Our captain Mahmudullah told us to do whatever we do best. He told us that we should play as a unit. It was our team plan to be aggressive on the field. In the last match, I did not get a chance to bat, so I tried to give my all with the ball in hand. When I will get the chance with the bat, I will strive to do my best,” Hossain told reporters.

“We are pretty confident after winning the first match. We are feeling good and we are raring to go for the second T20I. We are training hard to tackle the pitch and weather conditions. The facilities are good here,” he added.

I am trying to learn the most –

The all-rounder further added that he did not get a chance to bat in the first T20I, but he tried to the maximum number of dot balls when he had the ball in his hand. He would like to deliver with the bat as well.

“When I had the ball in hand, I focused on bowling the maximum number of dot balls. It is my first time playing in India, so I am trying to learn the most out of this series. We are not focusing on winning the series, we are just trying to give our best performance,” Hossain said.

All in all, it was a great game for Afif Hossain in his first game against India and also in Indian conditions. Following the action in Delhi, both the teams are training hard at Rajkot to put fans on edge of their seats on Thursday.
