Cricket superstar Steve Smith auditions for a career as an NRL halfback as he shows off his footy skills during a team practice
Cricket superstar Steve Smith has shown off his footy skills by throwing a difficult long pass to a teammate during a training session in England.
Smith, 30, was seen throwing a long pass to his team mate, Marnus Labuchagne, during the Australian team's training session on Wednesday.
The former captain posted the video to his Instagram page where it saw the likes of NRL stars such as James Tedesco offering him a spot in the Sydney Roosters NRL side.
'I'll be back in time for the finals Sydney Roosters,' Smith wrote in the post, tagging the rugby league team.
The Roosters were quick to respond tweeting, 'The great Steve Smith has clearly been watching Keary. Bring us the Ashes then we’ll talk,' referring to the team's halfback Luke Keary.
Smith posted the video to Instagram tagging the Sydney Roosters, saying he would be interested in filling in
The video saw Smith playing a friendly game of footy with his fellow cricketers, throwing the cut out pass while opponent David Warner tried to tackle him.
Labuchagne picked up the ball on the wing before making a dive and scoring a try.
'Ball. Swap in for a game?' Roosters star James Tedesco commented.
'Eels need to sign him!' another Instagram user wrote.
Roosters star, James Tedesco, even offered Smith a place in the team after witnessing the perfect pass
'Scores test hundreds in his sleep, plays guitar/sings, and now I find out he throws a bullet cut out. Honestly, is there a single thing this bloke can't do,' someone said.
Smith missed Australia's defeat to England earlier in the week but will return to the side for the next Ashes clash at Old Trafford in Manchester beginning on September 4.
