Deepti Sharma becomes the first Indian woman cricketer who has bowled three maidens in a T20 International match
All-rounder Deepti Sharma made an extremely good performance in India's first T20 International against South Africa in Surat on Tuesday. He led India to victory by scoring three maiden overs out of four overs with figures of 4/8. He bowled three maiden overs and made his place in the record book. This is the first time an Indian woman cricketer has bowled as a three maiden in a T20 International match.
Deepti gave runs on the 19th ball thrown in the match. Two of these overs were of Deepti while Trott took two in the 9th over and one in the 14th. The Agra girl's spell helped India defend its target of 131.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest 43 runs for the host team. Although Mignon du Preez scored a half-century, South Africa failed to follow him.
