New Delhi India vs South Africa test series 2019: 20-year-old young batsman Shubhaman Gill has been included in the Indian Test team for the three-Test series played against South Africa. Shubman Gill has got a place in Team India's Test team based on his recent performance.

Shubman Gill is currently playing the second unofficial Test match for India A against South Africa A. In the first innings of this match, he once again came close to his century and missed it. Gill scored 92 runs in the opening innings of this match. They are consistently doing well but the question is whether they will be able to find a place in the playing eleven in the Test match against South Africa.

Shubman Gill is constantly claiming to prove his place in the playing XI by batting well, but it is difficult to say whether Indian captain Virat Kohli and team management will show confidence in him. Right after the T20 series, Team India has to play a three-match Test series. The Test team currently has Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma as opener batsmen. The selectors have already made it clear that Rohit Sharma will be given a chance to open in the Test.

That is, here it seems that Shubman hardly gets a chance. Now in the middle order, there are already batsmen like Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, who are hardly removed. In such a situation, there does not seem to be a place here for Shubman. Anyway, for him the selector had said that he is the backup player in the team as an opener and middle order batsman. That is, Shubhaman will have to wait for someone not to bat well or if a player gets injured, he might get a place. That is, one thing is clear that currently making a place in the playing eleven in the Test team is entirely dependent on their play, not luck.

However, Shubman Gill continues to perform well. He had also scored 90 runs in the previous unofficial Test match and missed out on a century. Once again in the second Test, he missed his century and scored 92 runs. Shubman's record in first class matches has been excellent. He has scored 1443 runs in 14 first class matches played at an average of over 72. His best score is 268 runs and 4 centuries are named after him.
