England vs New Zealand 1st T20I T20I: ENG vs NZ Dream11 Team, Playing XI, Tips
Three-and-a-half months after the World Cup 2019 final, England and New will resume their rivalry in the five-match T20I series which kicks off on November 1 in Christchurch. While New Zealand have played a white-ball series since then, England will make their long-awaited return to limited-overs cricket.
The home side will go in favourites against the visitors, who have as many as six uncapped players in the squad. Colin Muro and Martin Guptill will kick off the proceeding with the bat while in bowling, Tim Southee will lead the proceedings along with Lockie Ferguson. Trent Boult will join the team for the final two matches of the series.
For England, Eoin morgan confirmed the debuts for Sam Curran and Patrick Brown. All-rounder Lewis Gregory is also in line to make his T20I debut.
The pitch at Hagley Oval is likely to assist the batsmen and a high-scoring match is on the cards. Bowlers might have a tough day out in the opening game.
Injury update and availability –
England will miss out on the services of all-rounder Joe Denly. He suffered an ankle injury during the practice session earlier in the day and has been ruled out of the first T20I for now. A call on his availability further will be taken later.
The match will start at 6:30 AM IST.
Here is the likely playing XI of both the teams –
