Faster Than Virat Kohli, Babar Azam Is The Third-Fastest Batsman To Hit 11 ODI Centuries
On Monday (30th September), Pakistan limited-overs vice-captain Babar Azam registered his 11th ODI century. The 24-year-old Pakistan cricketer achieved that record faster than the Indian captain, Virat Kohli, as Babar is the third-fastest batsman to hit 11 ODI centuries.
It was their second ODI of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka at National Stadium (Karachi). Since May 2015, it was the first ODI on the Pakistan soil. On last Friday (27th September), they had the schedule of the opening ODI of this series at the same venue. However, the heavy rain forced that game to abandon.
In the second ODI, Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss. Pakistan openers and provided a good start by putting the 73 runs partnership. After their partnership, Babar Azam showed his class with his bat.
Babar Azam scored 11 ODI centuries in 71 ODI innings
The right-handed batsman completed his half-century in 55 balls and then he batted more comfortably. Playing his 71st ODI innings, Babar completed his 11th ODI century in just 97 balls.
After securing that century, Babar became the third-fastest batsman to hit 11 ODI centuries. Only the Proteas batsmen (64 ODI innings) and (65 ODI innings) registered 11 ODI centuries faster than Babar. Indian captain Virat Kohli is behind of Babar as Kohli completed 11 ODI centuries in 82 ODI innings.

Babar Azam finally managed to score 115 runs off 105 balls with eight fours and four sixes. At the end of the 50 overs, Pakistan managed to score 305/7. Opener Fakhar Zaman also scored a half-century as he scored 54 runs. Haris Sohail (40 runs), Iftikhar Ahmed (32 not out) and Imam-ul-Haq (31 runs) also managed to score good runs.
Among the Sri Lankan bowlers, only the 22-year-old leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga managed to claim more than one wicket in that innings. He finished with the bowling figures of 10-0-63-2.
