First match of T20 series in Delhi, success in second over only
On November 3), the first match of the T20 series is to be held in Delhi. The possibility of the match being revealed due to pollution is being expressed, but even such possibilities have been rejected by BCCI President Saurabh Ganguly. Only one T20 International match has taken place on this ground so far, which was against New Zealand two years ago.
Rohit and Dhawan played Dhamaal innings
In this match, the New Zealand team won the toss and asked Team India to bat first. For Team India, the pair of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan had started brilliantly and together added 158 runs for the first wicket.
Because of this partnership, Team India had scored 202 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. In the match, both Rohit and Dhawan played 80-80 runs.
Success in the second over itself
Team India's bowling was commanded by Ashish Nehra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Akshar Patel. Captain Virat handed the ball to Yuzvendra Chahal in the second over and this claim of Virat came out. Chahal gave his first blow to New Zealand by catching Martin Guptill in the very first over by Hardik Pandya. In the very next over, two difficult catches by Colin Munro could not be taken by Dhoni and Pandya.
New Zealand craves long innings
Munro could not redeem his life and in the next over, Bhuvi was bowled by scoring 7 runs. After this, Captain Ken Williamson, with Tom Latham, made New Zealand score 50. Then in the 10th over, Hardik Pandya caught Williamson behind the wicket and gave a shock to the guest team. But at the other end Latham continued to score rapidly.
Then this turning point too
The match reversed in the 13th over when Akshar Patel turned Tom's match towards Hindustan by dismissing Tom Bruce and then Colin de Grandhom in the same over. After this the wicket kept falling. First Virat was run out by Henry Nicholls and after that Chahal stumped Latham and ended New Zealand's hopes. After this, Bhagwan Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, and Team Saudi could not postpone the team's defeat.
Now this is the challenge
The match was Ashish Nehra's last international match. He was given a good farewell by the team at his home ground. T India took a 1-0 lead in this T20 series. Now Delhi has to watch Team India play match with Bangladesh. Team India has won all 8 T20 matches to Bangladesh so far. This time Bangladesh was in a position to give a tough challenge to Team India, but after Shakib Al Hasan withdrew from the series, Bangladesh's team has become weak. It remains to be seen how challenging Mehmoodullah's team will be to Rohit Sharma.
