Gautam Gambhir Resigns From Director Role Of DDCA
Former Indian opener and current politician Gautam Gambhir has relinquished from the post of director of the Delhi District Cricket Association. Gambhir was appointed the director of the state body but he has now decided to resign due to many reasons. A close source to Gambhir has revealed that the former player wanted to do a lot for the Delhi cricketers but he was not given the freedom from DDCA.

Gambhir wanted the betterment of domestic players.
Meanwhile, the source close to Gautam Gambhir has revealed that a former player knows what needs to be done for the domestic players. Gambhir wanted to give the best facilities to the Delhi players but his request was canceled.
On the other hand, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly who is all set to take charge as the BCCI President had also said that the focus will be on First-Class cricketers. Ganguly had said that he will try to increase the remuneration of domestic players.Gautam Gambhir (Credits: Twitter)
“For me, my biggest focus will be first-class cricket,” Ganguly had said. “I have been very vocal about looking after the first-class players, especially the time they invest. First-class cricket is the base, the strength. I have written so many times in the last few years that the remunerations need to increase, and increase manifold. So that’s going to be a priority to set the FC cricket in order. Look at cricket structure, look at how governance happens and see smooth functioning happens with no issues.”
Similarly, Gautam Gambhir wanted the best medical services for domestic players. Furthermore, the Delhi players are required to pay for their Lunch and Dinner when they stay in five-star hotels. DDCA recently increased the daily wage of its junior players from INR 800 to 1500. On the other hand, the daily wage for senior players was increased from INR 1000 to 2000.
