Happy Birthday, Viru: Sachin Tendulkar, Aakash Chopra and others wish 'Sultan of Multan' on his 41st birthday

On Sunday (October 20), the former Indian opener Virender Sehwag celebrates his 41st birthday. Thus, the former right-hander, who has been very active on Twitter, was wished by his past colleagues and some of the current Indian cricketers on the social media platform.

Sehwag, who holds plenty of records during his illustrious career for Team India, is fondly known as the 'Sultan of Multan' for his first triple-century in Tests, which came against Pakistan in Multan during the 2004 tour. The 41-year-old is also the joint-second Indian with most double tons in the purest format of the game (6). He forged a lethal opening pair with Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar, whereas always tormented the bowlers when on song irrespective of the format.

While in T20Is, he averaged only 21.68 in limited appearances, he was a tough nut to crack for all oppositions in Tests and ODIs. Known for his fearless approach, he justified his tag at regular intervals with his free-flowing approach. In fact, even in the ICC World Cup 2011, Sehwag commenced India's innings with a four off the first ball on five (consecutive) occasions.

Throughout his career, Sehwag has been adored by fans, teammates as well as the opposition for his style of play. Hence, the Indian cricketers, with Sachin Tendulkar leading the way, commenced the day by extending their wishes for him on Twitter.

For all his avid fans, Sehwag will be seen in action once again during the forthcoming Road Safety World Series. During the launch of the initiative, he made his intentions clear. He stated, "Road Safety World Series is going to start in which many legends will play but the important thing is why it is being played? It is being played to spread awareness regarding road safety. It is a good initiative. I am very excited to open again with Tendulkar and face Brett Lee."

Even the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wished the cricketer on the occasion. Sehwag's reply is unmissable!
