Harbhajan Singh takes a dig at South Africa's batting woes, asks Jonty Rhodes to play in Ranchi Test
Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh aimed a dig at South Africa's poor batting show in the ongoing Test series against India by asking Jonty Rhodes to play for his side in the third and final Test match in Ranchi. The former South African cricketer and fielding great is currently in India for some commercial assignments. Rhodes took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a picture of himself wearing a South Africa jersey.
South Africa lost the second Test of the three-match series at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Sunday after failing to chase down India's first innings total of 601 runs in two innings. The Proteas were bundled out for 275 and 189 runs respectively in the two innings to suffer a huge defeat by an innings and 137 runs. With the victory, India sealed the series 2-0 continuing their winning streak in the ICC World Test Championship where they are unbeaten in their last four games.
Taking a dig at South Africa's batting woes, Harbhajan asked Rhodes if he can bat for South Africa in the last Test which will be played at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi starting from October 19th. "Can u play the last test in Ranchi, SA need some batting Jonty," Harbhajan commentated on Rhodes' post on Instagram. The South African was quick to reply, as he wrote, "They need much more than me!!!"
