Turning the clock back to three years, on the same day, the all-rounder Hardik Pandya made his ODI debut for India thus giving hope for the Indian National Cricket Team to solve their issues of having a fast-bowling all-rounder in the team. Now, after three years, the flamboyant all-rounder proved that the selectors were right in giving him the national cap.

Recollecting those memories, the right-handed all-rounder Hardik Pandya has shared an image from his debut. The picture displays Hardik Pandya collecting his maiden cap from the former Indian all-rounder Kapil Dev. It was in Dharamsala when New Zealand toured India in 2016.

Hardik Pandya has been on top of his game ever since he made his debut for the Indian team in international cricket. He has been contributing heavily with the bat, ball and his acrobatic fielding skills. However, the eccentric Indian all-rounder had humble beginnings before becoming one of the most successful cricketers in the country at the moment.

It was a memorable journey – Hardik Pandya

Posting a picture on his Twitter panel, Hardik Pandya added that it was the moment when he realised his dream to play for India. Further, Pandya added saying he is still realising it whenever he walks into the middle to play for the Indian National Cricket Team.

”Taking a moment to remember my ODI debut three years ago today … what a memorable journey it’s been so far with #TeamIndia. Every time I step onto the field, I realize a dream I had as a kid to play for my country.. there’s no greater honour for me,” Hardik Pandya.

The Baroda all-rounder is currently on a break and is recovering from his prolonged injury that he suffered during the Asia Cup last September in UAE. He recovered to play in the Indian Premier League 2019 and the World Cup before the injury resurfaced.

Pandya, who is an integral part of the Indian team during the next year’s World T20 in Australia, is expected to be out of action for the next few months as well. He played the T20I series against South Africa earlier this month before being ruled out of the Test series because of the injury. He will miss the T20Is against Bangladesh as well.
