What is per diem or daily allowance for players?

Daily allowance

The per diem or daily allowance is an amount of money given to the players per day for their daily expenses during an international cricket series, at home or overseas.

It must be noted that the daily allowance is not a part of the match fees, where the players are paid Rs. 15 lakh (Tests), Rs. 6 lakh (ODIs) and Rs. 3 lakh (T20Is).
