Australian cricketer David Warner was unstoppable in the recently-concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Australia won the series 3-0 as Warner ended up scoring 217 runs and going unbeaten.

There were a lot of talks after Warner had a dismal Ashes 2019.

However, the southpaw said he has always been confident.

Here's what the star batsman said.

Warner had a dismal Ashes 2019 against England

Ashes 2019

The Lanka series was a major turnaround for the 33-year-old Warner.

Prior to the series against Lanka, he scored just 95 runs in 10 innings at a paltry average of 9.5 in the Ashes 2019 against England after an impressive 2019 World Cup.

Warner failed miserably to counter England bowlers in the Ashes.

Despite the frustration, he said he never doubted the runs would come again.

"I've always been confident," Warner told reporters after his unbeaten 57 in the third T20I.

"I was out of runs [in England]. For me, it's about going out there and trying to apply myself 100 percent, like I do every time. I've been hitting the ball as well as ever."

"I've just maintained that rage to go out there and back myself," he added.

Warner was superb in the T20Is against Sri Lanka

Warner feats

In the third T20I against Lanka, Warner became the first Australian cricketer to surpass the 2,000-run mark in T20Is (2,009).

He became the sixth batsman in the world to achieve this remarkable feat.

The southpaw also amassed his 15th career T20I fifty.

He now has 195 fours and 84 sixes in T20Is.

Earlier, he smashed his maiden T20I ton in the first match.

He also was the second-highest run-scorer in the ICC World Cup 2019.
