ICC Likely To Host India-Pakistan Warm-Up Game Ahead Of World T20
After a massive success in the ICC World T20, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is now eyeing to make the upcoming World T20 next year in Australia bigger. To generate excitement among the fans, they are keen to organise a warm-up game between India and Pakistan.
India-Pakistan rivalries have produced huge revenues as it is the most-watched game in the entire globe. The outside rivalry makes it even more intense and the cricketers are keen to give their all to secure a win. Although ICC is yet to finalise the schedule, they are desperate to organise the match before the tournament gets rolling on October 18.
A recent report in TOI suggests that the organisers have got a green signal from the governing body. But they are yet to contact with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The report also added that BCCI and its members are unlikely to entertain the idea.ICC

“Wonder who comes up with these brilliant ideas there? First, they went and brought out the schedule of the 2020 World T20 almost two years in advance. And now, they want a warm-up game to create excitement,” a source told the leading daily.
Meanwhile, the last time India and Pakistan played a bilateral series was in 2012-13. Pakistan, touring India, beat the hosts 2-1 in a three-match series. Since India and Pakistan have faced each other only in the ICC competitions.
The last time India played Pakistan was during the recently concluded ICC World Cup 2019. The Men in Blues handed a humiliating defeat to Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side. Meanwhile, the relation between the two countries are on an all-time low after the recent Pulwama attack earlier this year.
