ICC T20I Rankings – Pakistan Keep Top Spot Despite Suffering Whitewash Against Sri Lanka
The Pakistan national cricket team maintained its top position in the latest update of the ICC T20I rankings. The Men in Green were clean swept by a second-string Sri Lankan side 3-0 at home but they were able to hang on to their numero uno position. Sarfaraz Ahmed-led team has 274 rating points under their belt as per the latest ICC update on 10th October.
However, Pakistan has lost some rating points and the gap between them and second-placed England has narrowed. England has 266 rating points and they are eight points away from the table leaders.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka gained one spot in the ICC T20I rankings. Sri Lanka was placed at eighth rank before the series and they leapfrogged Afghanistan to claim the seventh spot. The Island nation now has 241 rating points under their bag.
It was a fine performance from the Sri Lankan team as they came out all guns blazing in Pakistan. The visitors didn’t have experience on their side but they were able to outplay the hosts’ in all the three departments of the game.
England is in the second position whereas South Africa stays at the third rank. The Indian team is in fourth place with 261 rating points.
Meanwhile, Babar Azam is still the number one batsman in the ICC T20I rankings despite having a quiet series against Sri Lanka. Rashid Khan also maintains his top position in the rankings tree.
On the other hand, is at the seventh place whereas KL Rahul and Virat Kohli occupy the ninth and tenth rank respectively. In fact, there are no Indian bowlers in the top 10 rankings. Kuldeep Yadav is at the 13th place 632 rating points.
