ICC Test Ranking: Smith continues at No.1, distance increases with Koh
Australian batsman Steve Smith and fast bowler Pat Cummins have retained their first position in the latest ICC Test rankings. The Ashes series played between Australia and England was a 2–2 draw. Smith's form was always in the news in this series, so Cummins performed well with his balls.
However, in the fifth and final Test of the series, England defeated Australia by 135 runs. Smith scored 80 and 23 runs in this match, keeping him in first place (937 points).Indian team captain Virat Kohli is in second place with 903 points. He is 34 points behind Smith. Cheteshwar Pujara of India is fourth, Ajinkya Rahane is in seventh place.
When Smith started the Ashes, he was fourth with 857 points. After the series is over, he has reached 937 points. He scored 774 runs in four Tests of the Ashes series. Cummins also remains in the first place in the bowlers' rankings with 908 points. In second place is Kagiso Rabada of South Africa, who has 851 points.
Returning after the ban, David Warner of Australia, who played well in the World Cup, could not repeat the limited-overs form in the Test, which resulted in a loss of seven places. He has now come in 24th position.
Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood is out of the top-10. He has moved from eighth to 12th position. Ravindra Jadeja of India has now come in 11th position. England's Jofra Archer (37th) has managed to make it to the top-40, while all-rounder Sam Curran has climbed six places to 65th
