Shoaib Akhtar was also critical of Pakistan's performance against Australia and stated that the visitors did not deserve to win as their performance with the bat was shoddy at best.

Steve Smith produced yet another masterclass on Tuesday when he blasted 80 runs off 51 balls in Australia’s seven-wicket win over Pakistan in Canberra.

Heading into the summer the 30-year-old’s T20 prowess was questioned by some but that is put to rest as his takes his tally against Sri Lanka and Pakistan to 146/1 dismissal.

On the other hand, the Pakistan seam attack under the leadership of Babar Azam, seemed pretty much out of ideas on how to deal with the Australian talisman.

They should not look far as former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has revealed how he would stop the explosive Australia batsman.

In a video on his official YouTube channel, Akhtar said, “I am surprised how he does it. He has no technique or style but has bravery. So he is very effective. He reaches the pitch of the ball and was severe on Mohammad Amir.

“I do not know how he does it. If he was playing in my time, would have definitely hit him (3 or 4 on his face). I would have tried to hurt him. But it’s impossible to hurt this guy, he’s playing so well, he’s one of a kind. Wish him best of luck.”

“After his comeback, he has scored tons of runs. Some people were saying he is not a T20 player but he has proven them wrong,” Akhtar added.

Akhtar was also critical of Pakistan’s performance and stated that the visitors did not desreve to win as their performance with the bat was shoddy at best.
