IND Vs SA, 2nd Test: Virat Kohli & Co Register Biggest Win Over South Africa, Create World Record For Most Successive Home Series Victories
India recorded 11th straight home Test series win after defeating South Africa by an innings and 137 runs in the second Test at Pune on Sunday.
With the win, Virat Kohli & Co created the record for most successive Test wins at home. India won the first match at Visakhapatnam by 203 runs.
India entered the three-match series on ten wins, tying with the Australian teams that Steve Waugh and Mark Taylor led between November 1994 and November 2000 and the Australian team led by Ricky Ponting between July 2004 and November 2008.
The last time India lost a Test series at home was against England during the 2012-13 season. Their winning streak started with the subsequent rubber against Windies, which was also Sachin Tendulkar's last series.
This is also India's biggest win over South Africa in terms of innings. The previous high was an innings and 57-run win at Kolkata in 2010.
India are the top-ranked side in the Test rankings and started their campaign in the ICC World Test Championship with a win over the West Indies in the Carribean earlier this year.Related Articles:-
