So it is certain that in the third and final test, the Indian team would like to test their bench strength and can make as many as four big changes before going into the field. Lets see.
1. Hanuma Vihari in place of Ajinkya Rahane:
Hanuma Vihari can be given a chance to play in the Indian team by resting Ajinkya Rahane in the third and final Test match against South Africa. The vice captain of the Indian test team has scored so far scored 101 runs in 3 innings of 2 matches of the series.
However by giving the chance to Hanuma Vihari, Virat Kohli can strengthen the middle order as well as Vihari can be used to roll his arms if needed. The 26-year old, had one well with the bat and also won the 'Man of the series' in the recently concluded 2-match test series against West Indies. In such case, Vihari deserve a chance in the 3rd test.
2. Kuldeep Yadav in place of Ravichandran Ashwin:
Kuldeep Yadav can be given a chance to play in the Indian team by resting Ravichandran Ashwin in the third and final Test match against South Africa, while let us tell you, in the Test series being played between India and South Africa, Ravichandran Ashwin is the leading wicket taker, he has taken 14 wickets in 2 matches.
3. Rishabh Pant in place of Wriddhiman Saha:
Rishabh Pant can be given a chance to play in the Indian team by resting Wriddhiman Saha in the third and final Test match against South Africa. It's worth mentioning that, Saha has been brilliant with the golves and he had barely left anything behind.
However, bring Pant back in the playing XI will make batting lineup more aggressive, if India goes with only 4 bowlers in the 3rd test. Meanwhile, Saha has just scored 21 runs in 2 matches of the series.
4. Shubman Gill in place of Rohit Sharma:
Shubman Gill can be given a chance to play in the Indian team by resting Rohit Sharma in the third and final Test match against South Africa. Rohit Sharma had a historical first test as an opener and has so far scored 317 runs in 3 innings of the 2 matches.
No doubt, It will be unfare to drop Rohit after his amazing performance, but its a right time to give the young Shubman Gill the exposure of international level and prepare him for the upcoming series.
