The IND vs SA Test series had a special day today. Virat Kohli leading India for the 50th time, reached the 7000-run milestone, becoming the 4th fastest to the mark. Ravindra Jadeja with Virat Kohli, piled on the misery on the South African bowlers as India declared at 601/5 on Day 2 of the IND vs SA 2nd Test. Virat Kohli scored his 7th Double Hundred - the most by an Indian batsman, surpassing the six scored by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. He also became the first Indian captain to go past the 250-run mark en route his knock of 254*.

Earlier in the day, Ravindra Jadeja joined Virat Kohli at the crease after Ajinkya Rahane departed for a well compiled 59. Virat Kohli 7000: The Milestone Man

Virat Kohli reached the milestone of 7000 in his 138th innings. Only Wally Hammond, Virender Sehwag, and Sachin Tendulkar have reached the milestone quicker than him. Virat’s Innings was laced with 33 fours and 2 sixes. He also went past 21,000 International runs, further confirming his status as one of the best players of the modern era. Virat Kohli yesterday became only the second Indian captain to lead the country in 50 Test matches, the first being his predecessor MS Dhoni. Kohli also broke the record of most 150+ scores as captain- today’s knock being his 9th- going past Don Bradman’s eight. Kohli got lucky after he was dismissed off Senuran Muthusamy, which was later adjudged as a no-ball.

Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets, while Shami also picked up one as South Africa ended the day trailing India's score by 565 runs.
