India Remains At Top In ICC Test Championship Points Table
After an impressive victory in West Indies, the Virat Kohli-led Indian National Cricket Team tops the points table of the ongoing ICC Test Championship. They scripted 318-run victory in their inaugural series of the ICC World Test Championship 2019-21. They had a couple of perfect 60-point win, which saw them seal the top place.
The inaugural ICC World Test Championship got underway with the Ashes Test series in Edgbaston as the ICC looks to revive the format with a unique tournament where each team will play six Test series. The Ashes series has now ended and there are quite a few interesting numbers to each team on the points table.

With Australia and England two Tests each and one being a draw, both teams walk out of the series with 56 points each and are placed fourth and fifth in the World Test Championship points tally.Australia retain the Ashes. Twitter
Australia won the first match of the series at Birmingham by 251 runs before both teams played out a draw at Lord’s. The third match at Leeds was claimed by England after they were shot down for 67 in the first innings, eventually overhauling a target of 359 on the back of Ben Stokes’ once-in-a-lifetime innings.
Australia though returned the favour in the fourth match at Old Trafford with a 185-run win. That win ensured Australia retained the urn and left England desperate to win the final Test at the Oval to at least draw the series, which they did by beating Australia by 135 runs.England celebrate its win. As of now, India stand at top of the points table of the World Test Championship with 120 points with two wins in two Test against West Indies followed by New Zealand who secured a comprehensive victory by an innings and 65 runs against Sri Lanka in the final Test of the two-match series. Meanwhile, England and Australia are tied on third spot after having shared the spoils in the Ashes series.
