India Vs Bangladesh 2019/20: Second T20I – Powerful Rohit Sharma Guides India To Level The Series
The hosts India have levelled the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh after beating the visitors in the second T20I of this series at Rajkot on Thursday (7th November) night. Indian standing skipper Rohit Sharma, who was playing his 100th T20I, became the hero of this game as his powerful 85 runs knock helped the hosts to chase down the mediocre T20I target easily.
After winning the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma decided to field first. Both teams maintained the same playing XI for this T20I.
The visiting side Bangladesh got a very good start as the openers and Mohammad Naim put the 50+ partnership. Due to some mistakes from the Indian fielding side, the Bangladesh openers put the 60 runs partnership.
However, once that opening partnership was broken, the Indian bowlers took control of that innings. Due to India’s tight bowling in the second half, Bangladesh managed to score 153/6 in 20 overs.
Opener Mohammad Naim scored 36 runs while his opening partner Liton scored 29 runs. Soumya Sarkar and captain Mahmudullah both scored 30 runs in that innings but all of them lost their wickets at the important time.
Once again, the Indian leg-spinner bowled very well as he had the bowling figures of 4-0-28-2. Also, Deepak Chahar (1/25), Khaleel Ahmed (1/44) and Washington Sundar (1/25) scalped one wicket each.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put 118 runs opening partnership
In reply, the Indian openers Rohit Sharma and provided the perfect start for the hosts. They built up a century partnership which guided the hosts to the comfortable series-levelling victory.
Rohit-Dhawan provided the 118 runs partnership for the first wicket and India chased down that target in 15.4 overs after losing only both the openers. While Dhawan scored 31 runs, Rohit was in a brilliant form on his 100th T20I.
Rohit completed his half-century in just 23 balls and guided the home team to the safe victory. After scoring 85 runs off 43 balls, Rohit finally lost his wicket. In that powerful knock, Rohit hit six fours and six sixes.
and remained unbeaten in that successful chasing on eight and 24 runs respectively.
Among the Bangladesh bowlers, only the leg-spinner Aminul Islam (2/29) managed to pick up wickets.
With this victory, India have levelled this T20I series (1-1) with one match to go. They will play the series decider on this Sunday (10th November) at Nagpur.
