India vs SA 2019 – Rohit Sharma To Face Major Threat From Junior Dala
India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma will be in focus for the upcoming series against South Africa. However, Rohit Sharma will need to cautious against the South African pacer, Junior Dala. The right-arm fast bowler has had his wood on the Indian opener. The Proteas pacer has breathed down the neck of the right-hander as he has dismissed him on three occasions in seven balls. But, Rohit Sharma has only managed to score four runs against Junior Dala in the three T20I matches.
Meanwhile, the flamboyant batsman has scored 340 runs while playing against South Africa. Thus, the right-hander is 84 runs away from surpassing Martin Guptill’s tally of 424 runs against South Africa, to become the highest run-scorer in T20Is against any opponent.
India will look to start the series on a high.
On the other hand, the right-hander will face tough competition from his skipper Virat Kohli for the leading scorer in the shortest format of the game. Rohit Sharma has thus far amassed 2422 runs in the T20I format whereas is just 52 runs away from the Indian opener. The Indian skipper has scored 2369 runs in the shortest format of the game.
India will take on South Africa in the first T20I at the picturesque stadium of Dharamshala today. Consequently, Rohit Sharma will like to hit the ground running in the T20I series. Furthermore, the experienced batsman will open the innings with Mayank Agarwal in the Test series. The first Test match will be played at Vishakhapatnam from October 2.
Rohit Sharma has been in sublime form in the limited-overs format and he would like to carry the same form in the red-ball version. The right-hander was the leading run-getter in the World Cup as he had accumulated 648 runs.
