Indian Test cricket's opening batsman Mayank Agarwal has been mustering runs at will.

In just his sixth Test, the 28-year-old has gone on to smash a second career century.

The classy batsman registered a sublime ton against South Africa on Day 1 of the second Test match in Pune.

Here we look at the records scripted by Mayank.

Mayank notches fifth fifty-plus score in first innings

Mayank 1st innings

This was Mayank's fifth score of fifty-plus in the first innings of a Test.

Interestingly, hasn't scored a fifty in the second innings of a Test.

Prio to this century, his scores in a first innings of a Test read as 76, 77, 5, 55 and 215.

His scores in second innings read as 42, 16, 4 and 7.

Brilliant Mayank scripts these feats

Mayank feats

After registering 215 in the first Test, the Karnataka batsman slammed his second career Test ton.

He became the first Indian batsman to surpass the 450-run mark in Tests this year.

The opener also went past 500 career runs in Test cricket.

This was his second career Test century in just his second match at home.

Mayank joins an elite list, amasses this tally as well

Mayank joined the likes of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma to amass a second career Test ton against SA. Mayank also went past the mark of 50 fours hit in Tests this year. He is the first Indian to do so.

Mayank and Pujara slam century-plus stand

Mayank shared a brilliant 138-run stand for the second wicket alongside Cheteshwar Pujara.

This was the fifth-highest century-plus stand by an Indian pair for the second wicket against South Africa.

Pujara smashed nine fours and a six in his knock of 58.

This was Pujara's 22nd career Test fifty and a second against South Africa.

How has Day 1 panned out so far?

Day 1

India lost Rohit (14) early, before Mayank and Pujara got along to calm the ship.

Mayank slammed 16 fours and three sixes in his unbeaten knock so far.

The two batsmen took the steam out of the South Africans.

Kagiso Rabada was top notch after getting Pujara stuck at the crease.

The pacer clinched both wickets.

Mayank was joined by skipper Virat Kohli.
