Today the fight between South Africa and India will start at Dharamshala from 7 pm. Both the teams are ready with their young players. Quinton de Kock’s team is going in a transition period because it’s full of an almost young and inexperienced player. But Gautam Gambhir feels that Quinton de Kock is master with his bat and also wants him to deliver the best as a captain.

He wrote for Times of India and opined about the left-hander’s batting style. He detects that seeing de Kock’s batting reminds him about the batting of Kumara Sangakkara and Brian Lara.

“I like Quinton de Kock. He is one of those gorgeous left-handers which I always aspired to be but could never be. In full flow, he reminds me of Kumara Sangakkara and Brian Lara. Hopefully, he delivers as a captain but not at the cost of curtailing fluidity of his batting,” Gambhir said.

Quinton de Kock will first time lead South Africa in T20Is as Faf du Plessis is given rest. After the World Cup 2019 failure, the team has many hopes for him. He has a full army of inexperienced talent and De Kock needs to gear up himself to be a good captain. Gambhir counts the benefits that Indian team can get from the transition period of South Africa. He takes a look at the pitch and opines that it can benefit both fast bowler and batters.

“India will be licking their lips at the idea of taking on a young, work-in-progress opposition. Dharamsala is not a very big arena. And being at a higher altitude, the science guys tell me that the ball travels faster because the air is thin. All this means there will be plenty of boundaries if the pitch is good for batting,” Gambhir reckoned.

Gambhir feels that the South Africa tour is also a big chance for India’s young player

Whereas he also says that India’s young talent will also try to fix their places in the senior team. Gautam Gambhir said that it will be a great opportunity for , and .

“It is another opportunity for young Indian batsmen to cement their place in the side. Manish Pandey looks much younger than his age of 29. Shreyas Iyer explained enough in the West Indies that he is a great deal more than the ‘South Bombay’ swag. KL Rahul is a force in white-ball format. Rishabh Pant is always exciting but he has to watch his back as my favourite Sanju Samson is throwing some serious challenges at him. It is an exciting series as there are a lot of individual battles going on considering the T20 World Cup next year.”
