India vs South Africa Highlights, 3rd Test: South Africa 132/8 (f/o) at stumps, India two wicket away from series whitewash
- South Africa ended Day 3 at 132/8 as India were just two wickets away from series whitewash
- Mohammed Shami was the wrecker-in-chief for India as he claimed figures of 3/10 in South Africa's second innings
- Earlier, South Africa were bundled out for 162 in their first innings
India subjected South Africa to the ignominy of a follow-on and were two wickets away from inflicting a series whitewash on the visitors after dominating Day 3 of the third and final Test in Ranchi on Monday. Replying to India's 497-9 declared, South Africa were all out for 162, conceding a massive first-innings lead of 335 runs. Asked to follow on, they were equally poor second time round as they slumped to 132-8 at stumps having barely avoided defeat inside three days. Theunis de Bruyn was unbeaten on 30 after coming in as concussion substitute for Dean Elgar, who went for tests after being hit flush on the helmet by an Umesh Yadav delivery. Anrich Nortje was on five with India closing on a victory which would consolidate their place on top of the World Test Championship table.

Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami wreaked havoc as South Africa once again looked in complete disarray in their second innings on Day 3 of the Ranchi Test. After getting bundled out for 162 in the first innings, South Africa were asked to bat again as Virat Kohli enforced the follow-on keeping the light and weather in mind. In the second innings as well, the Proteas once again got off to a horrendous start as Umesh and Shami rattled their batting line up. First one to go for South Africa was Quinton de Kock, who got castled by Umesh in the second over. Shami then was all over the Proteas batting line up as he got rid of Zubayr Hamza (0), Faf du Plessis (4) and Temba Bavuma (0) in no time. The visitors went to tea, reeling at 26/4 still trailing by 309 runs.

Hello and welcome to the coverage of day-three action from the third and final Test between India and South Africa being played in Ranchi.
Two days of curtailed play due to bad light have taken away a fair chunk of 180 overs that should have been bowled by now, but conditions in Ranchi have so far allowed only 121.3 overs to be delivered.
To India's credit, they have still managed to take control, after declaring their first innings at 497/9, thanks to Rohit Sharma's (212) maiden Test double century and Ajinkya Rahane's 115 on day two. The hosts then took field to hit South Africa early with two quick wickets.
At Stumps on Sunday, India led the visitors by 488 runs as Mohammed Shami removed Dean Elgar for a two-ball duck and Umesh Yadav sent the other opener, Quinton de Kock, back for four. It left the Proteas struggling at 9/2 in five overs.
SA captain Faf du Plessis (1*) and Zubayr Hamza (0*) will resume the visitors' first innings today.
