The auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has always enthralled the cricketing world and the reasons are obvious. When the IPL started in 2008, the world was blown away by the amount of money involved in it. Over the years, big names as well as relatively unknowns names becoming millionaires was in a blink of an eye have left the players and others gasping for breath. No surprises that the world eagerly waits for the auction.
Well, the auction for the upcoming season in 2020 will take place in December this year. According to media reports, Kolkata will host the auction on December 19. The auction would not be a very big affair. The auction for the 2021 season will be a mega one since all the teams will be disbanded and the franchises will have to form fresh squads.
