IPL 2020: RCB becomes the 1st ever team in IPL to have a woman support staff member
RCB has appointed Navnita Gautam as a massage therapist for IPL 2020. They have now become the 1st ever team in IPL history to have a woman support staff member.
The official twitter handle of RCB revealed this fact recently. Navnita will be basically required to identify and implement massage therapy to help the team prepare and recover better.
She would be working with head physiotherapist Evan Speechly and Basu Shanker (strength and conditioning coach).
Navnita would also be responsible for performing specialized techniques pertaining to the preparation, motivation and physical ailments of individual players.
RCB has gone for a complete overhaul of their support staff with the appointment of Simon Katich as head coach and former New Zealand head coach Mike Hesson as director of cricket. The entire team is desperately looking for their maiden IPL title since 2008.
