Jasprit Bumrah Should Change His Run-Up And Action To Elongate His Career: Michael Holding
The yorker King Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out from the Test squad against South Africa because of injury. He was detected with the minor stress facture at the lower back during the routine radiological screening. He will be missed by the Indian national cricket team in the Test series.
It will take two months to recover from the injury because of which Bumrah will miss the two home Test series. One is the ongoing Test Series against South Africa and the other one is against Bangladesh which is scheduled in November. Both the series are the important part of 2019-21.
Jasprit Bumrah should try to change his action: Michael Holding
Former West Indies pacer Michael Holding has suggested that Jasprit Bumrah should change his bowling action. It will help the player to remain for a long period in the game. Holding gives the example of and explains how his action will make him go far in the game.
“I wouldn’t be able to say that Bumrah’s action has caused him to have stress fractures as I have no idea where those stress fractures have occurred, but what I know and have said to him is this: If he wants to have a long career, he needs to have a run-up and action that puts a bit less stress on his body overall,” Holding told Sportstar.
“Using such a short run and being so explosive at the crease puts a lot more stress on his body than, say, a Jofra Archer, who has such a smooth rhythmical run-up and action that allows him to distribute the workload over his body more efficiently,” he added.
has replaced Bumrah in the Test squad against South Africa. This will be the second time he will be missing a Test series since his debut in 2018. In total, he has played 12 Test matches and picked 62 wickets.
