Kamlesh Nagarkoti Ruled Out Of The Emerging Teams Asia Cup
Pace sensation Kamlesh Nagarkoti will miss the upcoming Emerging Teams Asia Cup which will begin next week in Bangladesh. Nagarkoti, who is in constant supervision of the BCCI medical team, failed to recover in time to be available for the tournament.
The young fast bowler from Rajasthan impressed during India’s victorious U19 World Cup campaign in New Zealand. Kamlesh Nagarkoti led the pace attack alongside Shivam Mavi as the Men in Blues brought the title home under the leadership of Prithvi Shaw.
He returned with nine wickets in the competition and was economical throughout the tournament. Before copping up the injury, Nagarkoti played nine List A games for Rajasthan. Nagarkoti got a reward for his excellent performance in the U19 World Cup as Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Kolkata Knight Riders roped the young pacer. However, he has not played a game for them as of now due to injury. He sustained the injury just before IPL 2018.
Experts in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru are constantly monitoring Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s injury. There he underwent rehab following stress fractures in his lower back, heel and ankle. While many thought that Nagarkoti will return to action next week, BCCI revealed that he is yet to recover fully.

Shivam Mavi, who played alongside Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the U19 World Cup will join the squad. Mavi has also done a spectacular job since then and will hope to utilise the opportunity with both hands. India go up against Nepal in their campaign opener in Savar on November 14
