Kareena honoured to unveil T20 trophies
Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan is off to Melbourne, Australia, where she will unveil the T20 World Cup trophy for Men and Women to promote the 2020 series to be held next year. She will reportedly be the first Indian actress to be invited for the prestigious ceremony. Interestingly, this unveiling ceremony will also have a personal connection with the star, who also happens to be the begum of the Pataudi family.
While expressing her joy of being given this honour, Kareena also fondly remembered her late father-in-law, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who was one of India’s finest cricketers. In a statement, the actress encouraged women all over the world to chase their dreams and lauded the female athletes for being an inspiration to all.
Kareena said, "I am honoured to be a part of this prestigious evening. I would like to encourage all these women out there who are playing for their respective countries to pursue their dreams. It's truly empowering to see them stand tall on an international platform. They are an inspiration to one and all.”
She went on to say, “ My late father-in-law was one of the greatest cricketers who played for the Indian cricket team and it is an honour for me to be unveiling the trophy.”
The women's World T20 is slated to be held from February 21 to March 8 while the men's T20 World Cup will be played from October 18 to November 15 next year.
