Manchester United Star Comes Out In Support Of Ben Stokes
The last few months is all about Ben Stokes on the NEWS headlines in the cricketing world. And, thankfully, most of the times, he was on the news for all the right things he did on the field. However, the English Daily, The ”SUN”, brought the unfortunate past of Ben Stokes and his family to take the limelight. Regarding the same, Ben Stokes took a strong stand against the SUN. Now, he gets support from Manchester United Star Marcus Rasjhford.
Ben Stokes issued a stern statement against the SUN for publishing an article revealing “extremely painful, sensitive and personal details” concerning the private lives of his family. Especially, for going back over 31 years. To be precise, exactly the time when he was born.
Hard to find words for such a low Journalism – Ben Stokes
The report alleges that his mother’s two children were killed by her ex in 1988, a few years before the cricketer’s birth. The all-rounder called the publication “heartless and immoral” for their reportage and revealed that their reporter went down to New Zealand to question his parents about this “incredibly upsetting topic.”Ben Stokes with his mother (Credits: The Sun)
“It is hard to find words that adequately describe such low and despicable behaviour, disguised as journalism. I cannot conceive of anything more immoral, heartless or contemptuous to the feelings and circumstances of my family.”
“For more than three decades, my family has worked hard to deal with the private trauma inevitably associated with these events. And, has taken great care to keep private what were deeply personal and traumatic events,” Ben Stokes wrote in his statement opposing the low journalism standards of The SUN.Marcus Rashford (Credits – Twitter)
Meanwhile, the United and England striker Marcus Rashford quoted that Ben Stokes deserves much better respect for his incredible summer in the field of sports. He tweeted quoting “Disappointing to see this. Ben Stokes has been huge for sport this summer. He and his family deserve better.”
