The Bengal stalwart Manoj Tiwary took a dig at the umpires following a controversial decision which ruled India skipper Virat Kohli out. Meanwhile, the morning session of day one of the third Test in Ranchi belonged to the South African team.

Kagiso Rabada provided the visitors with the best session so far from the Test series after Faf du Plessis lost another important toss. He removed in-form Mayank Agarwal and Cheteshwar Pujara to provide the early impetus before Anrich Nortje got Virat Kohli courtesy a controversial decision from the umpires.

Kohli and Rohit Sharma looked in good touch and seemed desperate to take India out of the trouble with a big partnership. But an inswinger from Nortje clipped Kohli’s pad as his head falls over in an attempt to manoeuvre the ball on the leg side.

It was a sharp inswinger from Anrich Nortje which nipped back after hitting the deck. Virat Kohli plays all around it with feet chained to the crease only to miss it. Umpire Nijel Llong quickly adjudged it LBW forcing Virat Kohli to go for a review. The impact was on the leg side and the ball clipped the wicket by half-an-inch while passing and thus keeping it as the on-field decision.

Manoj Tiwary, unimpressed with the decision slammed the umpires for their below standard outing in the Test matches so far. His disappointment was clear as he explained how Nijel Llong made an error while giving Virat Kohli out

“I would say Umpiring so far in this test has been below average to be honest by the 2 of d most experience elite umpires. Although d ball was clipping d leg stump but Umpire’s call shud had been Not out bcoz middle stump was visible on impact #INDvsSA,” Manoj Tiwary tweeted.
